A CANDLE INSIDE A DARK ROOM

 I lie wide awake
 In a still gaze towards the ceiling
 All around is a murky darkness
And I am thinking of a faraway thought...

 You are the candle burning inside,
You are the light that brightens me,
 You are the warmth lingering around
 And the cornerstone that I am seeking for.

                                My road has been patchy
                                Some days painful, some days delightful!
                                I have been longing to tell you the story
                                From beginning till end of my heart,
                                I have been thinking about you all along.

 Wondering how my life would smile
 If your presence filled the spaces,
 Dreaming how my days would glow up
If it had the chances to catch your glimpses,
 Hoping that you would read my heart
 If my lips forgot the words in your presence.

                                       But the candle melts; that's the truth
                                       You will be there somewhere in a corner,
                                       Sealed, untouched, unseen!
                                       I will meet you again in my thoughts
                                       And with the last flicker of the flame
                                       I realise that, there are tears in my eyes...

Tangled Dreams

It was imperative for me
To get carried away by your smile,
And bogged down by the frowns.
Yesterday moments were transparent,
Today it's stuck and tomorrow's a mystery,
Oh! How I hate mysteries!

My aliveness seems to linger
Around your varied temperaments
Around your unseen faces.

And I see you at the distance
And I am instantly insane
And drunken by the look in your eyes.
Those eyes make me lose my words
Lose my grip from my soul.

And I don't know where I am walking
In the midst of the misty road
Here I am searching to feel
The warmth of your hands...
The touch of your palms...
